ASE Lends Support to the 2018 RBA Outreach Meeting in Taiwan

Taipei, Taiwan, December 6, 2018 – ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. (TAIEX: 3711, NYSE: ASX) has been a member of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), formerly the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC), since 2015. As a member of the RBA, ASE adheres to a set of globally recognized Code of Conduct on key social, environmental and ethical issues in the industry supply chain. ASE is a company that values social responsibility and is a strong advocate of issues affecting the semiconductor industry and the global environment. ASE has also integrated the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its corporate strategies, operations and long term goals to support global efforts to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

On December 6, 2018 the RBA will host an Outreach Meeting in Taiwan, which is aimed at providing both member and non-member companies a comprehensive update on RBA’s initiatives, best practices from RBA companies and programs that help advance sustainability. ASE is proud to be a key sponsor of the event, and is committed to actively promote cross-industry knowledge sharing and enhance the competitiveness of Taiwan’s enterprises through such conferences.

ASE has been included on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) World and Emerging Market segments and selected as the Industry leader in the Semiconductors and Semiconductor Equipment Industry Group for 3 years in a row since 2016. The company has also demonstrated efforts in its supply chain sustainability through concrete programs such as carbon inventory consultation and improvement of labor standards. In 2017, ASE established the ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ award to recognize outstanding suppliers with proven records in sustainable development. Active participation in local and international industry organizations, such as the Taiwan Alliance for Sustainable Supply, GSA and SEMI, have also strengthened ASE’s role in influencing and achieving a more sustainable future.
